Great post, Yvonne. My husband and I stayed in a B & B when traveling to Ottawa, Canada several times. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I then included this experience in some of my travel writing.

You’ve provided a very complete check list, too, that lets anyone considering this type of business know it requires some consideration and can’t be done on a whim.

Thanks for this article Yvonne! It’s my dream to own a bed and breakfast (or a small restaurant with some rooms). I think it’s partly because I want an excuse to cook for people and make them pay for it…hehehe.

I LOVE the bed & breakfast business concept. I would love to own one, but my children are at a stage where it’s not feasible. Otherwise, I’m pretty satisfied to just stay in one…all weekend…and never leave…ever…never!
