Being distracted is so easy when you’re working at a home business, especially when there are family activities and obligations.

This is a challenge so many home business owners face, so sometimes they find meeting deadlines and being productive a challenge.
Productivity, whether it’s making a product or performing a service, is the desired result of a home business. Without adequate productivity, you will find you aren’t earning money.
Here are some tips for being more productive:
*Set specific working hours and try to stick with them. Yes, you often must work around other activities in the household and with your family. However, if you can find specific hours for working, it keeps you and your family on a schedule.
*Cut down on distractions and concentrate on your work during your scheduled hours. Try to arrange your working time when other family members are out of the house, are sleeping, or are engaged in other activities.
*Set deadlines. This helps you keep on track.
*Get an answering machine if you don’t have one. Then you can screen calls and won’t spend lengthy times chatting on the phone with personal or non-business calls. The caller can leave a message and you can get back to them.
*Think of yourself as a professional, the owner of your own corporation, even when others say, “He/she only works at home.”
What do you do to stay on track?
