Making the Most of Break Time in your Home Business

May 18, 2007 by Mary Emma Allen

We’re generally advised to take an occasional break to be most productive, rather than working endlessly at a task.  However, glen at Life Dev suggests we prepare for the task we’ll be doing after the break, or the portion of the task we’ll be continuing, before we take that break.

“Instead of finishing a task,  taking your well deserved break, and coming back to a completely new task [or the portion remaining], try this:  Set up your materials set up your materials needed for the next task before you go on your break.”  Then he gives examples.

When I thought about it, I realized, “That makes sense!”

Then you don’t waste time pulling your thoughts and materials together as you attempt to get back to speed.  Also, I’ve heard someone suggest leaving a portion of a task to finish after a break so you get right back into momentum when you resume.
