Planning a Portfolio for Your Home Business
June 6, 2009 by Mary Emma Allen
Portfolios, either as a scrapbook/photo album type or a DVD (perhaps both), aid greatly in describing your business and showing clients what you have available. Also, on your blog or web site, you can put together descriptions and photos.
Whichever you use, you’ll find this helps your client visualize what you can do for them.
Include:
- Photos of what you can do or have done.
- Photos of satisfied customers/clients’ purchases.
- Testimonies, both written and verbal, from your customers.
- Photos of what you have available.
- Samples of writing, products, services
For instance, for a party planning home business, I have an album containing a listing, description and photos, along with web sites for services and items I have available.
Then as I plan parties, I add photos of those occasions and items I used. My friend, who is starting her party planning, started out with photos of her daughter’s wedding. Next she’s including in her album/portfolio photos and descriptions of the wedding she and her daughters are planning for a friend.
What do you use as a portfolio or promotional material for your home business?
