Robin Jay Provides Advice On Utilizing The Business Lunch

Building relationships and developing friendships yield important rewards in life and the business world.  Robin Jay, author, speaker, and corporate trainer, provides tips for building these relationships between 12 and 2 in her book, The Art of the Business Lunch

When you introduce a social situation into a business relationship, you change the dynamic you have with your client by building a stronger foundation.

Although Robin concentrates on the business lunch, many of the ideas she “brings to the table” apply to life and dealings with customers and business associates in general.  She’s primarily talking about face-to-face meetings; however, you still can utilize many of her suggestions in online business relationships.

Thinking back, I recall times publishers met with me over lunch to discuss a book in progress.  My husband and I also often meet with business associates at restaurants.  Yes, it does provide a relaxed atmosphere away from the distractions or interruptions of the office.

I found The Art of the Business Lunch a compelling book with ideas I can apply to future business lunches.  This is a concept I hadn’t considered before…the importance of the business lunch.  However, Robin’s suggestions make so much sense as she explains the nuances and gives you tips to make your business lunches successful…whether you’re the host or the guest.

What has been your experiences with business lunches?  Have you been wary of lunching with clients?  Have you wondered about the proper procedures?  Robin covers many topics with suggestions you’ll find helpful and can put into practice.

(Robin is on a virtual book tour of the blogosphere during April.  For more information, you may want to check out her web site  with links to her YouTube videos.  Or take a look at her Art of the Business Lunch page.)
