When Your Computer or Internet is Malfunctioning

Many businesses nowadays depend on the computer and Internet for functioning, or at least for inventories and bookkeeping, paying bills and doing banking. 
Some are almost completely dependent on a functioning computer and Internet.
What happens when everything malfunctions?  How do you continue?  We had problems with our Internet connections last week so that none of the computers in the house could access it.  My writing/blogging business depends entirely on being able to access the Internet.  My husband’s business is about 75% dependent on the Internet.

Mastering a Computer Challenge in One’s Home Business

As I explain in Staying Organized Midst Computer Crash at My Organized Biz, I’m having challenges with my laptop, so am alternating time with my hubby at his desktop, which he also uses for an Internet based busiiness.  So far, I’m staying pretty much on schedule and having to reorganize only a few post deadlines.
I am having challenges with the photo issue.  I haven’t yet figured out how to get photos from his “My Pictures” to my blog posts.  This seems to work slightly different from my laptop.

Occasionally my husband’s desktop goes down.  Recently our son-in-law’s computer failed and is in the shop.  Sometimes my laptop decides to take a rest.  Or our server has problems.  What if someone decides to hack into your computer?  Or your computer gets a virus?
Whatever the reason, when these things happen, it’s impossible to access checking and business accounts one has installed on the computer.  So…do you know what bills have been paid, what must be paid, where your checking account balance stands when you can’t access your computer?

Is Going “Paperless” Always Best in Business?

More and more banks, credit card companies, and businesses are urging their customers and clients to go “paperless,” to have statements and invoices come to you entirely online rather than through the mail.  My husband and I’ve begun to do a great deal of our business online, such as paying bills, corresponding with businesses, and checking on invoices.  It’s convenient and immediate.
However, I’m reluctant to have a complete record online with no paper trail for a number of reasons.
