Creating Luck & Success in Your Home Business

March 19, 2007 by Mary Emma Allen

“They’re just lucky,” is a comment we often hear when someone is successful or has a fortunate turn of events in their life.  Yes, a combination of events that might be termed as “luck” sometimes plays a role.  However, often the so-called luck has been a result of perseverence, persistence, taking a risk, hard work and a powerful positive attitude.  Also, being aware and taking advantage of opportunities when they unfold in your life can be another factor.

David J. Schwartz expressed it this way in his book, The Magic of Thinking Big

The Magic of Thinking Big ”Take a second look at what appears to be someone’s ‘good luck.’  You’ll find not luck but preparation, planning, and success-producing thinking proceded his good fortune.”  In other words, the luck generally was something that was planned, set as a goal, not a “dropping into one’s lap” type of incident.

Tommy Newberry says “Success is not an accident,” in his book of the same name.

Success Is Not an Accident: Change Your Choices, Change Your Life Success is a choice, something you deliberately set as a goal and focus on, and work toward.

The fact that you have decided to develop a home business is a step toward creating your luck and starting on your road to success.  You’ve taken a step that some people are afraid to do.

“Success is a planned outcome, not an accident,” Tommy Newberry mentions.  So…start, or if you’ve already started. continue creating your ‘luck’ One Dozen (12) becoming successful in your home business.

(Also keep in mind, “success” has a different meaning to everyone.  Determine your meaning so you aren’t distracted or discouraged when someone else tries to force their interpretation on you.)
