Sales Tax & the Home Business Owner

Whether one collects sales tax for mail order and Internet sales often presents a quandry for the home business owner.
*What if you live in a no tax state but sell to customers in a state where there is a sales tax?
*What if you have a sales tax in your state and sell to someone in another sales tax state?
*What happens when you and your customer both live in the same state that has a sales tax?
*Do you collect sales tax if you visit another state to teach a workshop or give presentations and sell items while there?
These and other scenarios raise questions.

Thanks for visiting and taking time to leave a comment. I hope my readers will visit you at Taxgirl if they have sales tax questions. That can be a very complex issue. Fortunately, at least so far, our state doesn’t have sales tax.
I am wanting to start a home based business selling purses… I live in AZ plus the wholesale company I would buy them from needs a FED ID # which I already have… Do I have charge taxes by selling them at home parties… Do I need a license to do this… I have always been an Entreprenuer with Home Based Business but they paid the taxes when we collected them…
Any advice would be greatful…
