Working the World at Home gives information about airline reservationists who are engaged in this type of work from their homes. 
JetBlue Airways was the first to do this and other airlines are following suit, or at least giving it a try.
Some hotels and resorts also make use of those working from their homes to take care of many of their reservations and vacation plans.
