One thing that I have found to be helpful for me is to take a short amount of time off to regroup and recalculate my next move. Changing gears altogether for a brief periods helps me to refocus. After big disappointments, I’ll start on a house project or a “fix-it” project. That always helps me.

Thanks for sharing, Bridget. Yes, changing gears will help get your mind off a problem and “clear the cobwebs” as my mom used to say. I’ve often found delving into one of my writing projects helps me. I also like to turn to genealogy research and writing.
