Everyone faces losses and disappointments in life, whether personal or business. Sometimes you even feel like giving up on a project or dream. However, somehow we generally “get ourselves up, brush ourselves off, and start all over again!”

Celine, at Pimp Your Work, has 5 great tips for facing a loss or disappointment. She focuses on working with a team. However, individuals with home businesses can take her suggestions and use them for working with your family, one employee, or simply yourself.

“With each loss is a lesson,” says Celine. How true! Learn from disappointments and losses and apply that knowledge to the next challenge.

Do you have any tips for overcoming, getting up and starting out again?

  1. One thing that I have found to be helpful for me is to take a short amount of time off to regroup and recalculate my next move. Changing gears altogether for a brief periods helps me to refocus. After big disappointments, I’ll start on a house project or a “fix-it” project. That always helps me.

  2. Thanks for sharing, Bridget. Yes, changing gears will help get your mind off a problem and “clear the cobwebs” as my mom used to say. I’ve often found delving into one of my writing projects helps me. I also like to turn to genealogy research and writing.
