Janice Sharman at The American Chronicle highlights the widespread Home Biz Myth that clients think you are available all the time.

This is just one point mentioned in Sharman’s interesting article about the advantages and disadvantages of having an internet based home business.

It’s not just clients either. Friends and family often don’t understand that because you are home, you can’t just drop everything and go out to lunch at a moment’s notice. How do you get through to them that you are running a serious business?

My least favorite home biz myth is that since I am at home in my business, people can stop by to visit and chat! I hate that!

Another one is that my customers can call me on a Sunday evening to order product, or talk. Ever hear of closing time??

  2. Hi Megan
You’ve hit on two home biz myths we can all identify with. At least it’s good to know you’re not alone in this.

What’s the solution, do you think?
