Networking for Your Home Business – through the Mail

June 2, 2007 by Mary Emma Allen

Another way to network involves the postal mail.  Although many business owners don’t use this method so much as they once were, there still are ways to utilize it.  When you do send something through the mail, personalize it so the recipient doesn’t think it’s junk mail or a bill.

*Keep in touch with your customers or clients by sending newsletters, new product notices, event notices, etc.

*Ask customers to sign a guest book or drop their name in a bowl if they’d like to receive notices.  Sometimes businesses will have a drawing for a free gift after a certain date or they receive a specific number of names, business cards, etc. collect in the bowl.

*Touch bases with related businesses so you might join together with a promotional mailing.

*Develop eye-catching post cards to send to customers and businesses that help you…or someone you’ve met in person.
