Passion for Your Home Business Helps Generate Success

February 13, 2007 by Mary Emma Allen

We often think of passion in connection with Valentine’s Day.  We also can relate to this term in association with our home business, if it’s one we’re excited about.  When you have enthusiasm for what you’re doing, it almost becomes a passion…a necessary ingredient in making a success of your home business.

Ben Yoskovitz lists as #1 in his post, 10 Way to Know You’re an Entrepreneur, at Startup Spark blog: “You’re passionate.  Passion counts for a whole lot when it comes to being an entrepreneur.  Without it, you’re dead before you even start.”

W. Clement Stone mentions in his book, The Success System That Never Fails, “Desire is the beginning of all human achievement.”  Further along, in answer to questions about developing success, ambition, initiative, etc., he responds, “First, develop the desire.”

The Success System That Never FailsSome people would translate this desire to passion or a great enthusiam for something, or in this case, making a success of your home business.

Napoleon Hill, in Think and Grow Rich, states: “A burning desire to be and to do is the starting point from which the dreamer must take off.”

Think and Grow Rich: The Landmark Bestseller--Now Revised and Updated for the 21st Century This book doesn’t address any one specific business, but, as I found, helps with your ability to carry on through tough times and successful ones.  Your passion or intense desire for success in your home business will help you persevere, whether you remain at that endeavor for the rest of your life or adjust your focus as the business atmosphere changes with new technology and directions.

David J. Schwartz described desire (passion) in The Magic of Thinking Big: “Desire, when harnessed, is power.”  Then he mentions that the failure to follow your desire [follow that passion] to do what you want most, will lead you or “pave the way” to mediocrity.

The Magic of Thinking Big  Do you have the passion to pave your way to your success?

The version of “Think and Grow Rich” you show on this web page is actually an abridged version of Dr. Hill’s original book (first published in 1937) that has been available since the early 1960s.

Instead of this abridged version (or in addition to it), I hope you will consider mentioning and referring your readers to a new edition published by Aventine Press. It is “Think and Grow Rich!” (subtitled) “The Original Version, Restored and Revised” (ISBN 1593302002), edited by Ross Cornwell (me).

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Sincerely yours,

    Ross Cornwell

Great post. The Right attitude allows us to Transform PASSION into Action. The burning Desire to Succeed, so well stated in Hill’s Think & Grow Rich, must be ignited and fueled by Passion.
