Patricia Bolton’s Success in a Home Business & Beyond

May 12, 2007 by Mary Emma Allen

In a previous post, The Exciting Evolution of a Home Business to a Big Business, I told you about Patricia Bolton, founder of Quilting Arts Magazine and Cloth Paper Scissors.  Her venture evolved from a home business headquartered in the family barn to it’s merger with another corporation.

Now Patricia has taken this business and her career to another levelTV.  I received the announcement that Patricia will be hosting a series of Quilting Arts programs on PBS around the end of 2007.   Taping of the episodes begins shortly and her staff is lining up guests for these programs.

(I’ve also written about Patricia’s success on my Quilting and Patchwork blog.)  This is one of the books Patricia has edited and published, in addition to the two magazines.

Once you start a home based business, you often have no idea where it will eventually take you…even to the utmost level of what you’ve dreamed.  If the idea seems one you truly want to pursue, don’t let the skeptics stop you! Persevere…and become aware of opportunities that will push you forward.

  1. This is great advice Mary Emma and well said… a good reminder, as it also applies outside the home business sphere as well, to any goal.

Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne. Yes, sticking to one’s goal, persevering, and taking advantage of new directions, too, can apply anywhere in life. We need to stay focused, but not so blindly that we don’t see the need to deviate slightly in our path or see the new opportunities that may help us achieve that goal.
