The Need for Continual Education in Your Home Business

by Mary Emma Allen on April 15th, 2007

Darlene McDaniel’s post on Perpetual Learning at Small Business Boomers made me realize this is something for home business owners to think about.

“How much do you invest in your learning?” Darlene asks.  “Are you growing and strengthening your knowledge about your product, your pricing, your competition, your strategy and your vision?”

This made me realize that’s what I was doing this past weekend at a business conference which I referred to in Attention to the “Little Things” by Home Business Owners.  I picked up a great deal of information which gave me new ideas, made me assess what I’m doing, and inspired me.  Throughout the weekend, I also had an enjoyable time at a location away from home.

However, you can gain knowledge, ideas and inspiration from online sources and workshops closer to home.  Darlene mentions the Small Business Association and mentions their web site, where you can find information about free classes.

With our constantly changing world, seeming to gain momentum all the time with the Internet possibilities, we need to be up-to-date on what’s going on and the possibilities for our home businesses.
