You Have A Business Brand Whether You Realize It Or Not

January 23, 2008 by Yvonne Russell

Even if you operate a small part time business, you still have a business brand, whether you realize it or not.

Do You Take Business Branding Seriously?
Some home business owners don’t take business branding seriously, or perhaps they don’t understand the importance of their business brand. Even a small part time business has a business brand.

What Is Your Business Brand?
Your business brand is about more than the name, logo and services. It’s also about what people associate with your business e.g. personalized service, reliability and know how.

Brand Recognition

Business branding is key to people recognizing not only the name of your company but also what services you offer. This is known as brand recognition.

Your Personal Brand
If you operate under your own name, then you also have a personal brand as your name is directly associated with the business.

Every business needs to be aware of what happens when someone types the name of your business in a search engine (especially Google). This is especially true if the business operates under someone’s personal name. It is possible to have a degree of control over this by creating and updating a business web site, blogging, using twitter, etc. By doing this, I have been able to have links to my web presence show up at the top of web searches for my name. Every business needs also make sure that the links they want people see come up at the top of web searches.

Business branding and knowing how to raise your profile through being web savvy, is very important.
