$600 – Mine To Spend As I Please And All Guilt Free
March 18, 2008 by Yvonne Russell
Thanks to Jennifer at My Organized Biz, I have $600 play money to spend.
As I’m not a US citizen, I don’t qualify for the actual $600 tax rebate, but I’m going to spend my $600 anyway. Because it’s virtual, I don’t have to pay it back and I can spend it on anything I like – all guilt free. Here goes…
I am a sucker for a good book, so I would combine $50 with my Amazon vouchers and go on a spending spree…. books for relaxation. Browsing at my local Borders would take care of another $50. There are some books on writing, including The Well Fed Writer and some on business I have my eye on.
With the remaining $500, I would take my own advice about work life balance. I’d take some time out to relax with my husband… maybe put it towards flight tickets to Melbourne, a hotel and a show. Sounds great…. and it hasn’t cost me a cent…
Thanks for my little bit of indulgence Jennifer… $600 seems to go further in my imagination, than it does in the real world.
Find out how my Home Biz Notes co-blogger, Mary Emma Allen spent her $600 rebate.

What a fun post, Yvonne. You’ve inspired us to balance fun with work. Now….let me see what I’ll do with my $600. See my post on March 19!
This is great, Yvonne! I noticed, too, how it doesn’t go as far as I’d thought! I cut my list down to 6 things that were about $100 each.
Other folks doing this meme are married (I’m not yet) and actually have $1200 to kick around (more if they have kids).
Thanks for playing!
I look forward to your post Mary Emma, and to seeing how you spend your $600.
Hi Jennifer
This was fun. Thanks for my “play” money.
