It would be interesting to see the mechanisms behind what made it the success it became.
I really want to learn about how to do social networking so I can get an online business going. I love Harry Potter as well.
I enjoyed the HP books because they were fun and engaging. I am not a fantasy fan, but they made me want to read more.
I loved the Harry Potter books and I have collected all of them. I even have a UK version of one because I couldn’t wait until the US version was out. No, I didn’t show up at midnight at the bookstore to get one -I got on Amazon and made sure I was one of the first people to receive one by mail. I’m sad they are all done.
My son loves Harry Potter & this would make him a great birthday present
I’ve loved the Harry Potter books for many years now. I used to buy all sorts of things related to Harry Potter, honestly. As I got older, I stopped that but I was still a fan. I went to three midnight parties, love seeing the films, have two british versions (the first and second book) and like I said, lots of Harry Potter items (unauthorized books and more!). Harry Potter has just been a huge part of my life and I’m still very much interested in all aspects of it.

My husband works with a group of popular webcomics (science fiction, history, pop culture, and wizardry) who have quit their day jobs and struck out to find fame and fortune (or at least a decent income to support the family on) in entertaining millions with their creation.
The formula for success is within reach for most. This book among many will help nudge them that much further along.
There is a bit of self interest in wanting to win as well. 1. Being a fan of the recipients. 2. Our business is in a small way helping them stay in business…definitely a case of trickle down economics!
Thank you for hosting such a great contest/prize!
i loved the harry potter books, the whole idea of a magic based society hidden from the rest of us was fascinating
I love them because they are really timeless, and besides being too old for some, they really have no age restrictions, I am 30 and love them and my 10 year nephew loves them too. I really cherish that!
The Harry Potter books have been a tradition with my kids since the first one… waiting in line at the book store and all. We’d love to win this!
It would be interesting to read about the “business” side of Harry Potter. I loved the books!
I’d like the book to understand the macro effect of these fantasy books – they are truly a cultural phenomenon on the level of Tolkien or Star Wars. Who knew?
I love Harry Potter. I borrow the books often from the library. I’ve been waiting to be able to afford one of those real nice box sets.
I really enjoyed the Harry Potter books.
I would love to win this book for my son who adores Harry Potter books. My son is 11 years old and has a collection of all the Harry Potter books. He’s read them all and still goes back to reading them again and again. He’d be thrilled if we won this. Thanks for offering this giveaway.

My son is a BIG Harry Potter Fan and has read all of his books. But I am unable to buy the books for him due to being a disable single mother. So I am entering this sweepstakes in hopes I can win this book for his birthday which is in Sept.

My son has read most Harry Potter books, He would really enjoy this, thank you
I love reading Harry Potter books because they are so detailed and immerse you into a different world.
Any book that can appeal to a 12 year old as well as a 52 year old… phenomenal!
books for all ages they hold you and bring magic to life
I BOUGHT AN READ C.S. LEWIS’S SERIES THE WITCH, LION AND THE WARDROBE MY SENIOR YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL. I LOVED THEM THEN AN I LOVE THEM NOW AND THE HARRY POTTER SERIES HITS ME LIKE THEY DID AN DO AM OVER 50 NOW. FEEL LIKE BOTH WRITERS PRODUCED CHILDRENS BOOKS THAT WERE WRITTEN FOR ADULTS. ALL AGES LOVE THEM.
The Harry Potter books were written in a manner that is universal. They are not just for children, but rather for “children of all ages”. When I open one of the books, I cannot put it down until I have finished it.
Just a fabulous series and a one-in-a-lifetime author.
My kids AND I love these books…so want this badly for all of us…thanks!!!!
I would love to add it to my collection of Harry Potter books.
Interestingly, I didn’t know about the social marketing of the book; I only read stuff in newspapers for it. So getting this book would really fill in a big gap for me in terms of how this was done.
I own two sets of books. The first set is for my wife and me. The second is for my 9-year old stepson who came along after the whole thing started. He loves the movies. He has no idea how good the books are for him. Yet.
I am in high hopes that my boys will win the book, and I hope I can win his magic stick…The things I could do with that.
And if I don’t win……Out of all the comments I have read so far on this site. I think, Mary on Aug 20, 2008 at 5:44 pm , hands down you and your son should get the book. So I am wishing you good luck !!!!!
My entire family loved the books because they were such a great fantasy story. You could relate with at least one of the characters and they wonderful experiences they went through. Ours might not be as excited as their were but still it was fun to imagine yourself doing some of the things they did.
I have a shelf in my library for my grandchildren, this would be a great addition.
I have have not read any Potter books so this would be an experience to read!
I loved the Harry Potter books, and movies, but I would really like to read this book, as I have started a collection of Harry Potter collectibles with the hopes of them being worth more someday than they are now.

I Love Harry Potter. I have all of the movies so far, my excuse is my kids. But it is really me and my Fiance who Love it. We have read all the books. Can’t wait till the next movie comes out!!
The Harry Potter universe is an unstoppable marketing giant. This sounds like a fascinating book.
My son loves Harry Potter. Please enter me, thank you
Hello, The author’s life really began to intrigue me when I had read that she was a struggling mother of one before she began writing her “Harry Potter” books. Thanks, Cindi
I’d like to win this because my nephew is in love with the Harry Potter books. I think the books allow him to get away and really use his imagination.
My daughter and I devoured all the Harry Potter books. We attended at least one of the “midnight release parties” together. Usually we read them in a day or a day and a half after we received them, so we are huge Harry Potter fans. The characters and settings are so detailed and the plots are so intricate that you are drawn into another world inside the books. Now she is a college sophomore studying Communications Management and Design – the business of running a business (studies in advertising, training, public relations, business writing, and so on.) This book would be perfect for her to read to support her studies – and I would enjoy reading it also! She might even be able to do a report or paper on the Harry Potter business phenomenon! Thanks for the opportunity to win!
i loved the harry potter books, the whole idea of a magic based society hidden from the rest of us was fascinating
My daughter would love this. What a great storyteller the author is.
I’d like to win this because my son loves Harry Potter.
I would love a copy of this book. My family and I loved all the books and movie because it’s fun and magic. Thanks!
I can’t explain why I loved the Harry Potter books…I just know that I couldn’t put them down!
My son has learning disabilities and words (written and oral) are a challenge for him. Most books he is capable of reading are too immature for his age. So when the Harry Potter books came out, I started reading them to him. I have read all the books myself, and have read them all aloud to him. While waiting for the final book, I bought one of the “what will happen” books, and we discussed it. I’d love to read more about the phenomenon. (Incidentally, I fully expect to buy “Beetle the Bard.”)
I’d like to read more about how the books came to be and how I can apply marketing techniques to my own projects.

I am obsessed with Harry Potter. I love everything about the books. I have read them countless times.
I am also a marketing major, so this book would be twice as interesting to me!
I enjoyed the Harry Potter books because they were a fun escape.
I loved the Harry Potter series and would love to win this.
I’d have to read it myself first, then give it to the kids down the road. We live in the country were it is hard to get access to books.
All of my kids (& hubby) have read and collected all of the books, and this would add to the collection.
My daughter has read all of the books and now that she is in college, I think this would fascinate her as well!
Its great–thats why. My grandkids would love this.
Harry Potter is full of imagination and fun! I have enjoyed Harry Potter books more than any other series of books ever!!!!!!
I would like to learn more about the financial aspects of the HP phenom.
Looks like interesting read!!
The Harry Potter books were part of our reading aloud family reading tradition. We even read the final book the summer before our son went to college.
I need to read up on this Harry Potter person.
I love Harry! The Potter series had me riveted like no other.
The Harry Potter series of books are fairly masterful in evoking a whimsically twisted context of magical people and creatures, without leaving out the underlying darkness unfortunately pandemic in any society where death and ‘manifest destiny’ are still issues to power nightmares…
I’m intrigued by J.K. Rowling’s success and curious how she managed to corner the market in adolescent wish-fulfillment with a printed paper product amidst today’s electronic hullabaloo…
Nicely sidesteps the Buddhists’ “Attempting to reach enlightenment in one lifetime is considered ‘needy’ ” pitfall by spreading the angst over a good handful of years, both ‘in-story’ and ‘out-here’…
I feel it would be very interesting to learn the financial history relating to this series.
I can’t wait to read this book
My kids are big HP fans and this would help round out their collection. Thanks for the contest.
PLEASE COUNT ME IN ON THIS AWESOME GIVEAWAY

The Harry Potter series was amazing. Any set of books that can get thatmany people, adults and kids alike reading has to be a wonderful addition to our society. I LOVED THEM.
The books in the Harry Potter series are instant fantasy classics. Many, many years from now people will be discovering the world of Harry Potter much as people today enjoy the works of Tolkein and C.S. Lewis.
I think most people of all ages will always love Harry Potter. Adventure, Fantasy, Humor, and Horrific creatures all mixed in one. Who wouldn’t be able to get sucked into such amazing books, and movies!
I want to win this for my nephew, who LOVES Harry Potter.
The Harry Potter books pushed my children to be better readers. It was required reading in the 3rd grade.
